Background :

Iris is the only daughter of the powerful and influential Count Chateaubriand of France. She is also the youngest member of the Teikoku Kagekidan to date. In spite of her young age, though, she is easily the most powerful of all the girls there.

Iris was raised in a somewhat stifled environment among her family back in France. Because she is an only child, and in view of the fact that she possesses such incredible (and unstable) powers, her parents were naturally extremely protective and kept a very close eye on her all the time. However, in spite of their wariness, Fujieda Ayame managed to convince them to let her come to Japan by promising that she would teach Iris how to control her powers.

Iris joined the Hanagumi unit a little after Maria's and Kanna's entry. Because she is so small, her koubu needed to be modified in order for her to properly pilot it.

Personality :

Iris is a typically sweet little girl who loves her teddy bear, Jean-Paul. She carries the stuffed animal around everywhere she goes and talks to it frequently. In spite of her awesome gifts, she still manages to maintain an air of childish naivete and innocence. Most of the time, though, she tends to carry herself as an adult, and she really doesn't like it when people treat her like a child.

She has a close bond with Fujieda Ayame. She gets along well with the rest of the Hanagumi, Sumire and Sakura in particular. Leni's arrival later on was another turning point. As both Leni and Iris are about the same age, they became close and are frequently seen together.

Now that she has found friends to be with, the only thing Iris fears is to be left alone once more. She dislikes it when people fight, and the usual Sumire-Kanna arguments (later, Sumire-Kanna-Sakura arguments) can make her lose her temper and cause her powers to manifest. The results are sometimes spectacular and can cause minor injuries to all involved.

Iris is very fond of Oogami and so she can get a little possessive of him sometimes. Her fondest wish is to live with Oogami and her family together in France someday.
